The Varsity Stars got back on the winning track with a big 65-41 home win over the Comets of McCluer. With the win the Stars moved their record to .500 at 11-11 and finished the year at 4-1 in the Suburban XII North Division. The Stars started off the game with a slow start despite A'Tavian Butler's 7 1st qt points the Stars only led the Comets 16-10. The Stars got rolling in the 2nd qt outscoring the visitors 19-6 to take a 35-16 lead into the locker room at halftime. Butler continued his fine play with another 7 pts in the qt and Patrick Evans had 9 1st half points to add to the Star lead. In the 2nd half the Stars outscored the Comets 30-25 to continue to up their lead and Eric Simmons chipped in with 9 pts in the 2nd half. A'Tavian Butler would go on to finish with 20 pts on the night and Patrick Evans supported him with 12 total pts. Stars will be back in action next Wednesday at home as they will host former Suburban North rival the Pirates of Pattonville.
