May Athlete of the Month
Junior Lauryn Taylor is the Raising Canes May Athlete of the Month at MNHS. Lauryn is a third year member of the MNHS Girls Varsity Track team and has excelled once again on the local and state level. Last week she took 1st at Districts in the 100m with a new school record of 11.74 and took 2nd Place in the 200 m. Last year she took 4th in the State in the 100m and has been a member of the 4 x 100 State Champion team the past 2 years at MNHS. Lauryn has played basketball in the past and her plans after high school are to attend college and continue her athletic career in track and field.
May Student Athlete of the Month
Senior Cyrus Riddle is the Raising Canes May Student Athlete of the Month selection. Cyrus currently is ranked 19-310 in the senior class and is carrying a 4.11 GPA overall. Cyrus is a member of the MNHS Boys baseball squad and is a first year Varsity player for the Stars, while taking numerous college prep courses the past four years. He also was on Star Wrestling team for 4 years and swam for the Star swim program in the fall for all 4 years. Cyrus also was a member of the Transformative Leaders at MNHS, Principal’s Advisory Committee, and played in the MNHS Orchestra Cyrus’s plans after high school are to attend the Xavier University, LA and major in the Biology Pre Med tract.
