The Stars opened up their home portion of the 2017-2018 season by taking on the 4th ranked in St. Louis area Hazelwood Hawks. The Hawks busted out to an early 8-0 lead before Mekai Ray righted the ship for the Stars to keep the Stars in the game with seven 1st quarter points. The Stars trailed 18-12 after the 1st quarter and 37-22 at half. Patrick Evans stepped up with 8 pts in the 3rd quarter as the Stars and Hawks played to an 18 all even quarter. In the 4th quarter the Stars made a run, but never could get it any closer than 8 pts and went down in defeat 72-54. Patrick Evans led the Stars with 19 pts, while making 4 3pt buckets. Mekai Ray added 13 points and A'Tavian Butler added 12 points, while fighting foul trouble. The Stars will be back in action next Tuesday as they host Trinity Catholic in final game of 2017.
